1- Ventilate the room
For a healthy sleep in a healthy bedroom, ventilation is essential. It's not just during spring cleaning that you need to do this. Get into the habit of opening your bedroom windows for at least 15 minutes every morning to refresh the air and let in some fresh air. Air your bed, fluff your pillows, and stretch your sheets and duvets; you'll sleep better and your bedding will last longer.
2- Put things away
First of all, everything lying around on the floor or on your furniture must find its place in suitable storage before starting the big spring cleaning. This is the ideal time to empty your cupboards, sort them out and give them a quick vacuum to start off on the right foot. Also remember to tidy your bedside tables. Take advantage of this moment to strip your bedding , remove all your bed linen, pillow protectors, mattress protectors, and bed skirt. Remember to take down your curtains which have accumulated a lot of dust over the winter. A tidy bedroom provides a feeling of calm at bedtime.
3- Maintaining the laundry
To properly care for your linens, choose mild detergents. However, be careful to follow our recommendations and those of the manufacturer because the composition of your bedding may not tolerate machine washing or tumble drying. Some textiles (such as cotton sateen or percale) deserve a little ironing to be impeccable and avoid unsightly creases during storage. If your winter duvet is too bulky, dry cleaners are perfectly suited for washing large pieces of this type. To prevent the proliferation of bacteria, remember to dry your pillows thoroughly. If they are put in the dryer, using tennis balls in the drum helps aerate the filling and ensure even drying. When the good weather arrives, you can also take advantage of the few rays of sunshine to dry your laundry outside. This method is less expensive, less energy-intensive and more respectful of your laundry than using a tumble dryer! For optimal hygiene, it is important to wash your bed linen once a week .
4- Clean the room
Furniture, decorative objects, and other knick-knacks are often dust traps. To ensure you don't forget any corner of your room during this spring cleaning, proceed methodically. Start by cleaning your vertical surfaces (walls, mirrors, windows, wall frames), dust your furniture (inside and out), and then finish with the floor. Run your feather duster over the radiator, a damp cloth over your baseboards, and clean the bulbs in your reading lights and pendant lights. Also, remember to shake out and vacuum your rugs and headboards. If stains persist, proceed with a more thorough cleaning (dry cleaning, for example). Do you have an armchair or cushions in your room? Textiles tend to accumulate allergens and dust. Now's the time to give them a fresh look by running a brush over them or using your vacuum cleaner with the appropriate attachment. Ideally, of course, they should be easily removable for machine or hand washing. Please note that all our cushions and duvets have removable covers.
5- Clean the bedding
Nothing could be simpler: just vacuum your mattress and box spring to remove dust and other dirt. Is your bedding stained? Who better than Bgin Clean to explain how to effectively clean your mattress?

6- Tidy up and store laundry
Next, go through all your freshly washed and dried laundry: bed linen, blankets, cushion covers, etc. It's time to put away your winter linens. Anything worn or damaged needs to be recycled. For the rest, storing them in fabric covers has many advantages, including:- avoid mold,
- protect from light and thus prevent fading or dulling of colors,
- let the air circulate,
- prevent premature wear of textile fibers.
You can reuse your La Chambre Française pouches received in your order. And we also found this Wopilo cover , large format and made in France! We recommend adding a little wood to find your linens delicately scented next winter!
7- Put back and make the bed
Your bedroom is almost ready to welcome spring as it should be. It's time to put back the rugs, cushions, and curtains. Finally, all that's left is to make the bed . Opt for a mid-season or temperate duvet. If the mornings seem chilly, a comforter at the end of the bed will provide just the right amount of warmth. As for choosing bed linen, spring offers a multitude of possibilities:- Washed cotton , soft and iron-free, will appeal to those in a hurry.
- Linen or blended fabrics are recommended all year round, you will never be disappointed.
- Luxurious cotton satin will satisfy those who are very sensitive to the cold.

For the more motivated, you can also rearrange your furniture to refresh your decor or create a more functional space. Finally, a few spritzes of your favorite Eau du Lit and voilà, you've successfully completed your spring cleaning mission in your bedroom. With these simple, accessible tips, you'll be ready to fully enjoy spring!
